D.I. Scored Big at State
On Saturday, April 13th, eight West Platte teams competed at the state of Missouri Destination Imagination Affiliate Finals, at Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin, Missouri. All teams presented the unique solution to their chosen challenge and represented West Platte well! Three teams finished in first place, and three teams finished in second place. First place teams automatically advance to compete at the international competition, Global Finals. In addition to our three first place teams, one of our second place teams has been invited to compete at the tournament. This year Global Finals will be held at the KC Convention Center in Kansas City, May 22-25. Over 8,000 students from 15 countries will compete this year at Global Finals, and we are proud to be able to send four teams to the tournament! Cole Vandel completed his 14thyear of DI competition, and was recognized and awarded a Missouri Creative Adventures (MOCA) scholarship at the state tournament.
